1. He calls Astral Auto Repairs and lets them know that is car is overheating and the car would not make it to the shop. He also tells us that he called his repair shop and the car would have to be towed there so they can repair it, and that would be another $65. He heard that "We Come To You" and wanted to know could we come out and check the car out.

2. We first tell Jack that Yes, we do come to the vehicle so he can save that $65. Next, we let him know that Astral Auto Repairs has a fee of $50 per hour to diagnose the problem on any vehicle, but if the vehicle is repaired by us, the time to diagnose the vehicle is will be included in the final bill.

3. Jack asks us, "so, you are charging me just to come out and tell me whats wrong with my car?". "But what if I already know whats wrong with it and want you to change the water pump?".

We would respond to Jack and let him know that in that case we would just charge him for replacing the water pump, but we do not guarantee that the water pump will fix the problem because we did not diagnose the problem. We would also remind him that Mercedes have 3 water pumps and that either one could be bad.

5. We also inform Jack that Astral Auto Repairs charges a $50 diagnostic fee because of this reason:

6.Over the years many technicians would take time and diagnose a problem on a customer's vehicle. After the technician tells the customer what the problem is, they have it fixed elsewhere or do it themselves. Which would mean the technician did that work for nothing. All modern repair shops now charge a diagnostic fee for checking out your vehicle, but Astral Auto Repairs will incorporate that fee into your final bill if the car is repaired by us.

7. Jack understands and sets up an appointment for the following morning.

8. The next day, Astral Auto Repairs shows up at Jacks house at 8:00 in the morning. After diagnosing the vehicle, the technician finds out that one of the electric water pumps is not working. He locates a blown fuse and installs it. The car has stopped overheating.

9. Jack is very happy and tells the technician that his repair shop was going to change the pump for $485.

10. After writing out the bill, Jack was charged $50 for the service and $3 for the fuse. A total bill for $53 in which he used part of the money he had to tow the vehicle and still had $12.00 remaining!
